A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

The Greene Door Brooklyn

There is a Victorian influence in Flatbush,  one of Brooklyn’s original six villages, that is still very much in existance and very hot property. There are rows and rows and streets and malls lined with free standing English Tudor homes and Queen Anne mansions as well as other magnificent Victorian homes in this hotter than hot new burb that is setting Brooklyn real estate on fire.  And setting the rockets red glare with the pricetags as well.  A flood of film shoots, celebrity sightings and home purchases and a torrent of new outlandish apartment building developers lining up at permit offices all over the city just waiting for a turn to get into the still quaint 11226 zip code.  The majority of these lovelies are still one family homes, perhaps unkempt and slovenly after years of familial unoccupancy.  One of the archetypal homes featured on the big screen was the center of attention in Sophie’s Choice.  And since the heyday of that film era, shows like Gossip Girl, Girls and Law & Order are regularly parked on set, which is the street, on which a green tree still grows in Brooklyn.
