The older I get the more I try to continue to create a more thoughtful wardrobe. My style has always been classic, nothing has changed there. I still have a hint of the college prep in me, so I do wear a lot of outrageous colors just to keep things interesting and Lilly Pulitzer (and the like) in business. However, I live in NYC so there are occasions when it just works (and is appropriate) to wear all black, navy or grey – urban monochrome attire!
I like my staple pieces to have a little edge and personality. I also like items that make a statement and are comfortable. And so, when Club Monaco introduced this pretty little white romper this season, I bought one in white and one in navy and each of them have gotten a lot of attention. The crossback is sexy and stylish and the shorts help elongate these mini gams.
In the summer, naturally I wear a lot less heels and a lot more flats, but a recent white night out at the theater called for a few more elegant inches. So I styled the white CM romper with a three inch lift from Ivanka and I trumped the competition at dinner.
The outfit – a simple, tailored white open back romper, red Ivanka Carra pumps, Tahari ceramic earrings & a red Felix Rey vintage purse. The look – clean, playful, summery.
