Four Footed Friend

Ryleigh GreeneRyleigh has been a beautiful accessory in many posts and poses on The Greene Door during these last few months. The dog is part human, and without question, the smartest lab that I have ever owned. And it is pretty evident that he is a very pretty dog. He enjoys being on set, if you will, and with every shoot he inevitably and very quietly just paints himself right into the picture.

He was the very best birthday present that I ever received, and since I have the good fortune to be able to take him to work with me every day, we are attached at the hip. He runs with me, well, I run, he swims – when we are at the beach, and when we’re in the city running, he knows how to shoot for the hole a whole lot better than I do at times. (The Brooklyn Bridge is a tough run to maneuver as it is, but the yellow lab ‘guide dog’ thing works wonders through a crowd of selfie sticking tourists. Everyone makes way for him and then, just how he runs, he gets his picture taken again.) I enjoy having him nearby, all the time, at my office and when we are home working on The Greene Door. And as he has great footing and somehow got underfoot during a whole lot of shoe shoots, we picked some of my favorite kickers that Ryleigh helped style recently, to show off his naturally good looks and impeccable taste. And in keeping with our mission statement (he is also a lover of all things beautiful) a reference naturally to all the green trees on NYC’s “GreenStreets” that he admires. It’s a cute scene with Ryleigh Greene in the footer of this pink and black slide show with just a hint of green to be remembered.

The Greene Door Ryleigh GreeneSam Edelman Booties

These classic pink suede ankle boots, are the perfect pop of prep and sophistication and they are very soft on this thin skin, which is important for those of us that forgo socks at any time of year. Run, don’t walk, they are on sale.

Ryleigh GreeneAsics Kayano and Nimbus Sneakers

These are my first choice in running shoes. Several pairs of these, got me through several marathons. The gel cushioning is soft and supple and the shock absorption is easy on the knees. This season started with a pop of neon and now runs the rainbow gamet of color choices and styles.

The Greene Door Ryleigh GreeneIvanka Trump Pumps (4″)

I adore these Carra heels in so many colors, and I always order a 1/2 size up, that heel is as high as the rent, take heed! Funky colors go fast, so grab whatever is left, they are long lasting and very pretty.

The Greene Door Ryleigh GreeneKate Spade Slingbacks

Satin and jewels add some party-ready chic to a pair of very roomy hot pink Ilsa slingback pumps. These, chunksters can handle cobblestones with ease!

The Greene Door Ryleigh GreeneSam Edelman pumps (3″)

This ‘apprentice’ makes quite a difference less the Ivanka inch. They are also less pointy-toed than the Carras, and the heel is a bit thicker. So look-a-likes by day, but less dressy at night. These paired with jeans are perfectly pretty in pink!

The Greene Door Ryleigh GreeneKate Spade Bow Pumps

(Currently sold out everywhere, but sign up on Lyst for news on an available pair.) It works, you will find them. They are out there just waiting to see that you wait-lysted.

The Greene Door Ryleigh GreeneKate Spade Jackie Heels

The heel is a tad lower than it should be, but the shoe is remarkably comfortable and pairs well dressed up or down, or even at work! (Oooh, black is now tough, but the beige is beautiful.)

TGDStubbs & Wooten Slippers (not for J. Crew, thankfully, and far more unique!)

So unique that the green frogs are long gone, but there are other equally friendly and cute critters in adorable color block.
