Clothing discounts tend to ebb and flow during the shopping season. Pop up shops, flash sales and holiday hankerings are all strategically marketed to encourage, engage and enlist an energetic shopper. Sales items traditionally are marked down after the season that introduced them, but clever retailers that rebrand their most popular branded items, have no choice but to mark down their current items, currently. And so it is with this short list of ordinary, yet still popular items that have been worn season to season, year after year, with very little changes, but a bow here, an ecru interior there or an updated color palate or button placement. (ie. jeans, white blouse, black quilted jacket, patent shoes, black SUV.) Nevertheless, they are but a few items that are currently on sale, en masse. And then there will be a short in the current and poof, full price prevails. Until current market prices drop and boom, on sale again. This modern December to Remember romance is redundant but relevant, as long as the sales current is very strong. So it is wise to save a bit on styles while they run hot and hold and then save the styles – for (ahem!) another current event.
